Bake & Saltfish. Film
Bake and Saltfish is a three-part hybrid film moving across kitchens, churches, workplaces, and archives—following a Caribbean descendant tracing intergenerational trauma from Africa to Southeast Asia, the Caribbean, England, and the United States, where colonial violence has settled into the body and family. Through recipes, journal entries, archival fragments, and staged vignettes, the film transforms one family’s migration story into a poetic reckoning with child sexual abuse, diaspora, and the slow, sacred work of somatic healing.
